Do you ever leave the house without a camera?

To be honest, I leave the house without a camera most of the time – except for when I am in Hamburg, London or Paris. I always carry a camera in these cities.

At what age did you use a camera for the first time?

Quite late. I’m a classical career changer. I used to work as a Make-Up Artist in photography before I picked up a camera myself and discovered the magic of being behind the lens.

How did you work as a photographer and how long did it take for you to live off photography?

I was lucky to settle down in Advertising pretty fast so I could live from my photography.

Do you prefer zoom or fixed focal length?

There is just one possible answer: I love my 1.4 /50 fixed.

Which topics do you prefer to photograph?

Humans, humans, and humans.

And which ones do you dislike? And why?

I’m a bit skeptic concerning stills. They can be, but it’s just not my thing. If only apples could talk…

What was the biggest highlight of your photographer career?

My biggest highlight is not a single shooting or picture. It is when my team and everyone working on a production has fun and puts everything into capturing something inspiring.

Is there a distinctive look in your pictures?

It’s the most important thing for me to implement feelings and authenticity in my images. I want to tell stories and evoke emotions in whoever looks at my pictures.

Without which aid or tool would you never want to photograph again?

What was your motivation to work with Westend61?

A very, very charming acquisition.
