Not only meat- and royalty-free, but also tasty to look at: These photos are vegetarian guaranteed

Our social interaction, including the visual language, will be characterized by a “new normal” in 2021 that we are going to have to face in view of the Covid pandemic. Our creative director Martine Praessl has compiled and explained the many manifestations and effects of this “New Normal” in “INSPIRE – Trends 2021.” We offer this e-magazine to registered customers as a free download on our homepage. Today, let’s take a look at the aspect of sustainability, and, more specifically, the vegetarian diet.

The eternal good intention?

The pandemic, along with the Fridays For Future movement, has raised public awareness of sustainability. It is no longer a matter of doing something good only for yourself, but of combining self-care with service to the community. A good example of this is the steady trend toward vegetarian and vegan diets. According to a survey by the eco-power provider LichtBLick, around 13 percent of Germans want to eat a vegetarian or vegan diet in 2021.

Behind this is the desire to eat healthier while also doing something against climate catastrophe and animal suffering. As a photo agency that not only communicates the trend toward sustainability in its visual language, but also lives it in its own corporate culture, we want to establish this trend permanently, and we very much welcome this development.

Show me the tomatoes!

The topics of sustainability and mindfulness are directly related to our diet because conventional industrial agriculture contributes to global warming. This is where the switch to a more balanced and meat-free diet, which many people are striving for, comes in. The modern, critical consumer does not want unrestricted consumption at the expense of nature and future generations, but rather wants to enjoy food with awareness and a clear conscience.

And in times when one food scandal follows the next and untenable conditions in the meat processing industry are uncovered, we justifiably want to know more precisely where our food comes from and whether it is safe – not only because we want to stay healthy, but also because we have a sense of ecological responsibility. If we can now be sure that the tomato, carrot, or cucumber on our plate is a regional product, we have already taken an important step toward sustainability.

“Food Culture” in images

So it’s logical that in recent years we have included many images on the topic of “vegetarian/vegan diet” in our portfolio. Because this topic is becoming increasingly important, we have significantly expanded this area. Make sure to browse our portfolio in search of those carrots and cucumbers.
