Green Technology: good and efficient for the Environment
Wind turbines shooting out of the ground everywhere make it abundantly clear: The age of renewable energies is here. “Green” technology plays an increasingly important role for our environment – especially in times of an energy crisis.
After all, not only are the earth’s fossil resources limited, but excessively consuming them is also the reason for the high level of greenhouse gas emissions and global warming – two compelling arguments for a consistent switch to more sustainable forms of energy generation. Energy efficiency is certainly one of the dominant issues of our time.
For too long, industrial societies have operated at the expense of nature. For too long, smoking chimneys and steaming cooling water towers were symbols of prosperity and progress. But since then, there has been a growing realization that our high standard of living has come at too high a price. The consequences of decades of exploiting our natural resources are now unmistakable and are assuming ever more threatening proportions – high time for a rethink!
SETTING THE COURSE TOWARD SUSTAINABILITY
If we want to secure our level of prosperity but at the same time spare our children and grandchildren the climate catastrophe, we must come up with something new. Instead of digging deep holes in the landscape, building new nuclear power plants with their incalculable risks, and slowly but surely suffocating the world under an impenetrable smog cloud – in other words, instead of fighting against nature – we need to harness nature’s ever-available elemental forces: sun, wind, and water. We will also have to reorganize our mobility, a core area of modern society. The large-capacity gas-guzzler is a discontinued model; the future belongs to e-mobility.

The transformation to a more environmentally conscious society began long ago. Still, we are only at the beginning because in order to meet our enormous energy needs in the future, we not only need new forms of energy generation and their constant further development, but we also have to learn to save energy better than before. That is why the consistent implementation of energy-saving measures is another important prerequisite for a “greener” future. Everyone must pull together to achieve this – companies and institutions as well as each private household. Energy efficiency and sustainability are very much in vogue. They are not only an ecological necessity, but also evidence of corporate trust and credibility.
SMART SOLUTIONS INSTEAD OF DRONING MACHINES
It is a matter of reconciling our need for consumption, prosperity, and profit with the desire to preserve an environment that is as intact as possible. New technologies that make the best possible use of the potential of digitalization play a key role here. What is needed, then, are smart solutions instead of droning machines. “Make the earth your own” was yesterday’s slogan; now it’s about understanding nature better, using its powers, appreciating – and therefore protecting – them.
The theme of “energy and efficiency” has strong potential for meaningful, exciting images on the important trend of “sustainability.” Strict shapes and straight lines form interesting contrasts to the irregular structures in the green world around us. But even sober electronic gadgets can unfold an unexpected aesthetic all their own when placed in the right light.

THE VISUAL MESSAGE “GO GREEN!” IS FUN
The core message of these royalty-free stock images is that humans and the environment, technology and nature can coexist and in a more harmonious way than has been the case up to now. With its infinite variations, this smart picture message is “Go Green!” These photos are simply fun to look at – and they may even achieve more than gloomy forecasts and admonishing, wagging fingers.
