All-Rounder

A circle in itself is perfect. From a geometrical point of view, there is no form covering more ground with less surface. Roundness can be seen as a sign of economic efficiency: a genuine all-rounder.

The round brings joy into our lives, and we can’t let go of it. We argue about, we laugh, and we cry. It is a highly emotional and sensitive topic yet raw and honest. The round enchants the artist and the worker. We love and can’t be without it. The round determines itself: The round has to go into the square.

In square offices, we develop edgy ideas and straightforward concepts. Strategical selflessness keeps us in front of square monitors pushing square buttons. The glass box embodies a small world of ours in which we tend to dream of adventures right outside the door and afar. Think outside the box: all around the world.

We are nowhere near being egomaniac loners. We want to share and make others happy – out of love, charity, empathy friendship or sympathy: the next round is on us!

Wherever we go, even in the most remote places of the earth the circle, the roundness will always be by our side and waiting there for us. It is anchored deeply in our cultures and societies. The magic of the round leaves all room for interpretations and philosophy. It is completion in perfection, micro- and macrocosms and basically the circle of life. There is no top or bottom, no end, and no beginning but the comforting certainty of a circle closing itself. Nowhere the perfect middle is defined more proper as in a circle. Maybe that’s the reason for our being fascinated.

In our pictures, we often find the search for the well-rounded, for completion. It is the search for a perfect balance of motif, model and momentum. At other images, the roundness becomes even more vivid. Whether it is the middle circle of a football pitch, a cup of coffee or the view through a porthole, in photography roundness rapidly can become a tangible thing.
