Royalty-Free Stock Images – The “Yellow Pages” of Marketing

The Yellow Pages are published in more than 100 countries. This entrepreneurial “hello-here-I-am” in paper form has survived even into the digital age. The color is no coincidence: Yellow is the brightest and most luminous tone on the color spectrum and is often used as a signal or warning color. Yellow also has a communicative and cheerful effect and is associated not only with a sharp mind, but also with optimism.

Yellow shows where to go

The psychological effect of colors is also used in advertising. Color concepts and color psychology can underline an image message effectively. Its signal effect makes the color yellow – either garish or more discreet depending on the desired effect – a sought-after design tool in brand communication. Sometimes less is more here. Too gaudy a yellow can appear kitschy or cheap. In its various accents, yellow is suitable for prompts such as call-to-action buttons on websites or banners.

Yellow doesn’t leave anybody cold

Yellow therefore orients the eye and attracts attention. Our photographers make use of this time and again. There is hardly an image with strong yellow tones that does not take on an active and dynamic touch, explaining the dominance of yellow in our Vista collection. This color simply doesn’t leave anyone cold. Try it out: Our Art Department has put together a yellow pinboard for you here. Sometimes the images are more upbeat, sometimes more discreet, but they all radiate activity and joie de vivre.
