Normality comes back in terms of submissions. The traces of the corona crisis did not disappear but visually spoken. They blur and blend in with the new normal. In the June submissions, we find many sharp images where the protagonists feel themselves: sports, nudity, and a general body cult. After a time of anesthetic, regulation, and shut-down, we see strong feelings and emotions in the images – a return to ourselves—definitely a consequence of the crisis. Not the outdoor experiences etc. are in focus but the experience of ourselves and personal development. Of course, our photographers are always influenced by common events and use their craft as a mouthpiece to spread their opinion on the ongoing BLM-protests in the USA and around the world. They make the Westend61-Portfolio a standout in terms of diversity.
