Gaining the trust of the target group with authentic imagery

A key feature of successful image communication is credibility. Consumers have become more skeptical and critical. That’s why you can hardly convince them with exaggerated promises and clichéd images. The only way to gain the interest and trust of a target group is with a genuine and realistic visual language that appeals to the viewer emotionally.

In the daily flood of information, people are looking for comprehensible and credible content and messages. A reality that is often experienced as crisis-ridden strengthens the desire for orientation, trust and security. Authentic images play an important role here, as people can identify with them because such representations reflect the reality of their own lives. This conveys a sense of security. Successful image communication also helps to create transparency with regard to products, services and brand labels, thereby building trust among consumers.

In particular, this trust also promotes the portrayal of people in all their diversity. It is not model measurements and flawless beauty that are in demand, but rather an inclusive portrayal that reflects the individuality of a free, tolerant and modern society. This ensures that as many people as possible can identify with the people portrayed. All backgrounds, ethnicities, age groups, physical appearances, gender identities and lifestyles are part of an authentic portrayal. Regardless of the image message and advertised product, this is always a statement of social responsibility and promotes mutual acceptance.

Cleverly staged moments from real life that arouse emotions are more effective than market-screaming courting of attention. This is perceived as more genuine and therefore more credible and strengthens the bond between a brand and the consumer. It is about recognizing the real needs of a target group and addressing them in a targeted manner. This requires an empathetic, honest approach at eye level. Images that tell little stories from real life, as we have all experienced them, create closeness and arouse sympathy. A natural, relaxed and non-staged presentation is an important prerequisite for a positive brand image.
